Jim Foster

Dr. James Foster is the Principal Data Scientist for the Evanston Technical Partners. A Manufacturing Analytics Leader with progressive career providing technical support in agribusiness, packaging, and specialty chemical environments, he leverages formal training in Advanced Analytics, Engineering, Chemistry, Experimental Design and Mathematics to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability of international plant operations. Jim has exceptional fundamental and applied research project management experience with significant contributions to intellectual property.

Dr. Foster has numerous publications and 17 patents to his credit and served on the JMP Customer Advisory Board. Additionally, he was on advisory boards for the Iowa State University Center for Crops Utilization Research and the University of Illinois Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering in Champaign/Urbana. Dr Foster presented at Predictive Analytics World Manufacturing Conference in 2014, 2015, and 2017. And was keynote speaker at the 2008 and the 2014 AICHE Midwest Regional Conference and at numerous other manufacturing analytics conferences. He was awarded the Archer Daniels Midland’s CEO Leadership Award in 2019 for his work in Manufacturing Analytics.

Education includes a BS in Chemistry and BS in Mathematics from Loyola University, MS and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a Masters in Analytics from the University of Chicago. After working for 15 years in the pulp and paper industry, he worked 21 years for Archer Daniels Midland Company before starting with Evanston Technology Partners.
